UFO Thursday

Today my UFO is an unfinished quilt of my mother's. She was unable to finish it before she passed away earlier this year and now it has come to me to finish it. There is only three quarters of the binding to stitch and it will be finished.
So I will sit and sew tonight and hopefully finish it. It is such a shame she didn't finish it and enjoy this beautiful quilt.
Visit Sandy at Cookies and Cream Craft to see who else has a UFO to share and link up and show us your UFO.

National Police Remembrance Day - Blue Ribbon Day

"We recall with deep gratitude those police officers throughout Australasia and the South West Pacific who have given their lives in the line of duty. We remember especially the 157 men and women who, over the past 158 years, have paid the supreme sacrifice whilst serving with Victoria Police. We gather now to honour their memory and to support their loved ones by our presence, our thoughts and our prayers" Reverend Jim Pilmer

The Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation was formed in 1988 to perpetuate the memory of Victoria Police members killed in the line of duty.

Progressive Scrap at Digiridoo Scraps September 2011

I have just finished the Progressive Scrap at Digiridoo Scraps.
It goes for 5 days and each day you receive a free download from the site's monthly Collaboration kit. You must place the papers and the elements on your layout and once placed, they must not be moved! You must post your layout onto the thread before you receive the details for the next day. You have no idea what you will be receiving or how, and if, your layout will turn out OK.
I am amazed every month just how different everyone's layouts turn out when we have all been given the same papers and elements. (you can see HERE)

Here is my day-by-day summary:
And this is how my layout finished up:
I'm pleased with the result!
And now I'm waiting for next month's Progressive Scrap!

Christmas Sew Along

I have just joined the Christmas Sew Along (SAL) with Lesley at Sew Happy.Me
It's starting tomorrow (Friday 23 September) so hurry over and have a look at this...

There is a Christmas stitchery (7" x 6") every week for seven weeks and then on the eighth week Lesley will post instructions how to put them all together to make Christmas bunting - you HAVE to have a look at this HERE

Here's a peek from Sew Happy.Me blog

And you can join up HERE

When I was talking on Skype with my friend Mhairi yesterday, she told me about this Christmas Sew Along that she had already joined -  because she knew I NEEDED another project to do!!!
So I joined up straight away! Today Joy came for our weekly Thursday sewing, and I told her about it and now she has signed up too! Then I FB messaged Florence and Maryse and Geniene, and emailed Kathy too!
When I read Lesley's blog tonight, she posted that she has about 600 participants already and the numbers are still rising! Wow!
Let me know if you join in and we can "Sew Along" together!

Week 2 - 15 Minute Challenge

Linking up for the second week with Kate on her blog Life in Pieces. Have been enjoying this challenge and have been doing 15 minutes every day this week. Little by little - things are getting done. I even spent time reading my new Vignette Issue 4 magazine and counted this too! The Vignette mentioned on my list is the stitchery from Vignette Issue 1 (see HERE) - slowly getting done too!

I did finish the Noah's Ark Quilt this week (see Monday's Show and Tell) - so I am feeling very happy.
