We got a dog !!!!

After much hesitation, we got a dog!
For many years now Madeline has been nagging us to get a dog. After attending parent/teacher/student interview at the end of June, and hearing a VERY good persuasive argument that our daughter had written on the topic "Every family should have a dog" - we (the grown-ups) made the decision.
After much research from Rob on sites for dog adoptions, he found the "perfect"dog. Madeline had her heart set on a "ball of fluff" and had thought pomeranians looked "so cute". When Rob found "Chip" on the RSPSA site and saw he was 1 year, desexed AND pomeranian/papillon - he went to see him - and came home with a surprise for Madeline!
The look on her face - PRICELESS !!!!

 

Still have to decide a name for him ...

Bye Bye Digiridoo Scraps

So sad ...
On July 15th, 2012 Digiridoo Scraps closed.

After starting digi scrapping in June 2011, I found Digiridoo Scrap and was warmly welcomed by everyone. I participated in all sorts of challenges (template, font, progressive, scraplift, Art Journal), got on a Creative Team (Rhonda Sunflower Designs/ from My He{ART} Design - now retired), then another Creative Team (Truman Studio) and then another Creative Team (The Urban Fairy). In this time I learnt so much and made many friends - even met Sharon (Skyezak) in "real life"
I had a wonderful time there and I am already missing my first "digi home" - My designers have new homes so I will be hanging out with them and hopefully catching up with some of my digi friends.
I have also joined the Creative Team for Dana's Footprint Digital Design and Vicki has introduced me to Speed Scraps!!! Now I have to learn to scrap AND chat at the same time, and complete my page within the set time!

Speed Scrap at Scrappity Doo Dah

Sunday evening in the US is mid morning on Monday here in Australia - I have been playing along with Vicki (Dana's Footprint Digital Design's designer) who I CT for, at Scrappity Doo Dah's weekly Speed Scrap. These are so much FUN! Starting with a blank page, there are instructions every 10 minutes and lots of chatting and games inbetween. After 7 instructions, and then 1 hour 15min to finish up and post to the forum, you have a new layout!

Christmas In July 2012

Yes - it is that time of the year again - time to spend time with my patchwork friends from all over the world!
This is my third Christmas In July Online Retreat - run by Sarah of Quilt Fabric Delight

Even though I have not made lots of projects from Christmas In July, I have made some wonderful friends (and they have all signed up for Christmas In July 2012)

From Australia - Mhairi -  I recently met her "in real life" when her family were on holidays in my state. Our friendship began last year when I was warmly welcomed by her in the chat room (my very first chat room experience) and we haven't stopped talking since!!!!
From France - Florence -who I met at the first Christmas In July (and chat regularly to), and who I will hopefully meet "in real life" one day.
From USA - Deanna - we met through The Great Global Christmas Swap a few years ago and both signed up for Christmas In July and every year since!
From my suburb - Barb - who I had a cuppa with last week, who is in my Fat Quarter Swap group and also in the first Christmas In July.

And looking through the introduction thread - I see many more ladies who I chatted with last year and hope to chat to again.
